For the manufacturing of medical technology and other products for special applications, it is sometimes necessary to use special materials such as glass. In order to integrate these into a complex housing geometry, they should be incorporated directly into the moulding of the housing.
The aim of the thesis is to research the technologies currently available for inserting inserts, especially glass, into the plastic component during the injection moulding process. These technologies are evaluated according to certain criteria and various processes are selected for further trials. Based on these tests, this will then be implemented using a specific example.

- Evaluation of the technologies found according to various criteria (advantages/disadvantages, costs, benefits, etc.)
- Selection of several processes for further trials Integration of the processes into the production process
- Planning, implementation and evaluation of the trials
- Documentation of the results
Job requirements:
- Student of mechanical engineering/materials engineering or similar degree programmes
- Analytical thought process
