Assembly

There is no greater responsibility: a medical product is implanted in the human body and must function perfectly there. Our staff manufacture disposable endoscopes from microscopic components with great precision in cleanrooms (Class 7 & 8). We also supply complete assemblies for the industrial and automotive sectors. Depending on order volume and complexity, semi-automated and fully automated assembly lines are available to you in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. In doing so, we combine the specific advantages of each location to offer you the benefits of a global system supplier.

Scope of Services

  1. Assembly of medical devices in cleanrooms (ISO 14644-1 Class 7 & 8)
  2. Assembly of mechanical parts and electrical components
  3. Semi- and fully automated assembly lines
  4. Robotic systems with camera inspection systems
  5. Hot-air welding
  6. Traceability

Application Example: Endoscope

A complete medical product from a single partner—worldwide. KH has established itself as a contract manufacturer in the medical sector. This means that, upon request, customers receive everything from a single source, ranging from development to packaging and logistics. For several years, KH has been manufacturing single-use endoscopes—a product that clearly illustrates this workflow. The entire process was developed in Helmbrechts and is carried out at the KH facilities in Helmbrechts and Chodov (Czech Republic).

A tiny camera is inserted into the highly flexible deflection mechanism and secured in place. Precise positioning is essential.

Up to twelve different plastic components (including several two-component parts) and 15 purchased parts are assembled into the finished endoscope in a cleanroom (Class 7 & 8).

Before packaging, the unit undergoes a 100% end-of-line (EOL) test. Checks include, for example, the leak-tightness and patency of the working channel and correct camera functionality.

Packaging

Moving straight from the cleanroom to sterilization requires the right packaging. KH packages products manufactured in-house and also offers this service to customers as a standalone process step when required.

Precision instruments require packaging that reliably protects them from damage. Rigid blisters are ideally suited for this purpose.

A qualified sealing machine seals the Tyvek pouches, securely closing the endoscope's primary packaging.

A specialized printer generates the product labels right inside the cleanroom. Labeling is followed by transfer out of the cleanroom and secondary packaging.

Packaging Center

Our Czech facility in Chodov is currently developing into the KH Group’s packaging center. We have recently started manufacturing hard-shell blister packs on our own production lines here, packing components into poly bags and dispatching deliveries directly to customers from the logistics centre in Nové Sedlo.

Blister Thermoforming

We handle roll film up to 3 mm thick and sheet material up to 6–7 mm thick, with a forming area of 500 x 750 mm and a maximum forming depth of 100 mm. You can count on us for these capabilities.

Our vacuum thermoforming facility provides the ideal packaging for your product. Thanks to our in-house toolmaking department, we are also fast and flexible when it comes to producing the thermoforming molds.
