KH Medical at the Medical Technology Innovation Forum

Two specialist presentations that were very well received by the audience: Thomas Ruff (Head of Technical Sales at KH) and Christian Pohlschmidt (Head of Sales Medical) informed participants at the Innovation Forum in Tuttlingen about closed surfaces using IML and filling simulations in injection molding.

Our trade fair team on site in Tuttlingen at the KH stand: from left to right André Rauner (Business Development Manager), Thomas Ruff (Head of Technical Sales), Christian Pohlschmidt (Head of Sales Medical) and Michael Papke (Senior Key Account Manager).

Homogeneous, easy-care surfaces with sensors or heating – but without dirt traps. In his presentation, Thomas Ruff explained how this goal can be achieved using the In-Mold Labelling process. The integration of functions into plastic components offers great development potential, particularly for the medical industry. For example, for treatment devices with antibacterial surface coatings that are also scratch-resistant.

When injection moulding becomes difficult, filling simulations come into their own. Christian Pohlschmidt explained that this allows problem areas to be identified at the development stage, before the costly process of tool production begins. Customers who are still in the early stages of developing their product idea benefit in particular from bringing an experienced plastics processor on board to advise them on feasibility.

The lively interest shown at the KH Medical stand demonstrated that both presentations were well received.
