Pivotal to this was the biological exhaust air purification BIOMAT which has been in operation in Helmbrechts since 2016. It purifies the exhaust air from the painting plant (up to 80.000 m3 per hour) in a large tank of wood chips enriched with bacterial cultures. The result: clean breathing air.
For the Better-Painting Award, a specialist jury assigned by the magazine, Besser Lackieren [Better Painting], assessed the participants according to technical, ecological, economic and social factors. KH operates, in total, three painting plants in Germany and coats around 50 million parts per annum.
